Honors College

Honors College alumni, Abigail Hawkins, has been selected for the prestigious Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) for Young Professionals program. Hawkins, who graduated from Mason in May 2022, majored in global affairs with concentrations in human security and Middle East and North Africa Studies, and a minor in Arabic.  

Through the Global Engagement Scholar Program, undergraduate students in George Mason University School of Business have an opportunity they shouldn’t pass up to examine their own biases, cultural values, and learn how to contribute to a dynamic and global workforce.

Juan Escalera is a senior Marketing and economics major and began his time in the Honors College in the EIP.

While in the hospital because of the injury he sustained playing basketball, Mason biology major Sean Diment decided to change his major and study to become a health care provider.

Each spring, Dewberry Hall fills up with students and faculty, with crowds spilling over into the hallway to celebrate the spring research exhibition and award ceremony

Jasmine Okidi, a third-year University Scholar studying English, was selected as Mason’s first-ever recipient of the Beinecke Scholarship.

The Honors College class on the “100th Meridian Project” involves a multidisciplinary investigation into the water crisis in the American West.

Michael is an academic advisor in the Honors College at George Mason University. He enjoys writing comedy and has been published in several magazines. He is currently working on a novel that explores humanity’s relationship with social media.

Dr. Matthew West is a Term Assistant Professor of Global Affairs. Dr. West is broadly interested in phenomena at the intersections of the legal and the economic as sites to further our critical understanding of globalization's unequal circulations of knowledge, people, and things.

Caroline West is a Term Assistant Professor in the Honors College. Her research is broadly centered in cultural and media studies with special focus in photography and visual culture, theories of race and gender, and political economy.
