Academic Advising

Help available when you need it

Appointments with your academic advisor will begin during your first few days on campus and continue to build a solid groundwork for a successful, supported academic career. Your advisor will not only help you to transition into the Honors College, they will be a go-to resource when it comes to navigating important decisions about your studies. Their advice represents an extra boost to your advancement beyond traditional advising available through your major, so make sure to touch base with them at least once a semester. 

The Honors College has both virtual and in person appointments, depending on the availability of your advisor. Students are encouraged to email their advisors for advising questions, or to set up an advising appointment.  Advisors can be found below, by major. For general advising questions, please email hcadvise@gmu.edu. When emailing your advisor or hcadvise@gmu.edu, please include your G#. It can take advisors 3-5 business days to respond to your inquiry.  Please do not send multiple emails. 

If you have questions for the Office of Financial Aid, Student Accounts, or the Registrar’s office, please visit the Mason Student Success Center webpage. You can submit your questions through their online portal.

Advising is important to your success

Honors College Advisors are available to help you succeed in the Honors College and in your Major. You should make appointments with advisors on the basis of your major.

Step 1: Find the Honors College advisor for your discipline    

You may register using the Personal Availability Link in this table. Note that from May 1 through May 22, the university will be transitioning from Navigate to Patriot Connect. If you are graduating in Spring 2025, keep using Navigate. Otherwise, starting on May 1, please use Patriot Connect. During the transition, information for both systems will be provided below. If you have questions, you may email your advisors at the email addresses provided below.

Step 2: Schedule Your Appointment Today

There are two ways to schedule an appointment with an advisor

I. Use the advisor's Personal Availability Link (PAL) in the table above

1. Click on the Personal Availability Link (PAL) for the advisor for your major or the major you are interested in to log into Navigate or Patriot Connect.
2. You will enter your NetID and password, then click login. If this is your first time logging into the system on a computer or device, then you will need to click "accept" to allow the sign-on.

II. Log into Navigate or Patriot Connect without using the personal availability link

• For Patriot Connect, go to connect.gmu.edu, and follow these guides. 
• For Navigate, go to https://gmu.campus.eab.com/ and follow these guides.
