Biography

Callia Barwick is an Admissions Counselor with the Honors College. Her involvement in admissions began at her undergraduate alma mater, where she was a tour guide and admissions office intern for several years. Following her graduation, Callia volunteered as an alumni representative who actively went to admissions fairs, gave alumni recommendations and participated in prospective student outreach.

Working with the Honors College, Callia interacts with some of the university’s most determined students and applicants. Prior to coming to George Mason University, Callia was a service contractor with the United States Environmental Protection Agency where she worked with the Office of Research and Development in Policy Auditing. She also was a long-term substitute teacher and former high school cheerleading coach, which gave her an opportunity to work with students in an advisor role prior to coming to George Mason.

SunnyD, Support Specialist, is Callia Barwick's service dog within the office of admissions. Since being Callia's Service Dog, SunnyD was active in college admissions as well. She is a Labrador Retriever who loves to give support whenever she can.

Education

Callia graduated with Honors from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts in Political and Governmental Studies, Pre-law and a minor in History.
